A PvE char can't really compete with a PvP char unless the PvE char has perfect equipment.

Greens are a cheap alternative for perfect items and allows budget PvErs to compete with their own char in PvP (still I think the majority of greens are quite crappy)

Sorry to say, /not signed. The greens serve their purpose for the causal players.

I'm not sure if I should even leave this thread open.

Greens were added to the game to give perfect weapons to casual players easily. They were meant to be cheap and available to everyone.

Asking that they be made more rare and cost more is completely going against the purpose of adding them in the first place.

Green items can remove quite a large grind from the game, working to build your own perfect item can take quite some time and money, but finding a green that is almost how you want it will help you get back to playing the game how you like and not pointless farming for money.

well gw was more fun without the invention because it was harder to get good items. Now you can pull out a perfect staff at 3k (20 minutes of farming) and it takes a lot of fun out of the game...i thought more ppl would agree with me...because if you had good items before greens they really got u

with that statement, you just proved that the purpose you opened up this thread was for personal profit. Yes an average guy like me cant afford those 15^50 swords or that 15% while enchanted bow. Guild Wars is not about grinding like you want it to be. Guild Wars is having fun just the way you want it. Whether it be PvP or PvE, removing greens will cause everyone to grind for those "perfect" weapons and guess what, not every one really enjoys farming. Like many posters here said, if you really want a perfect gold weapon, sure spend your money on it. I rather spend my money on something that works just as good.

The majority of greens suck, and I'd never use them under any circumstances(mostly because I PvP).

However they need to be in the game, it's lowered the weapon mod/gold weapon costs, and also given players who don't even have enough money/time to get gold weapons how they like to just play the game. Not to mention, many PvErs actualy will customize their greens, which makes them superior to a non-customized perfect gold(in terms of +% damage).

Greens aren't super awsome, they're just a middle class of weapons that everyone can afford. If you want mods like -5e +%dmg, -10 al attacking +%dmg, ect you have to get golds. If you want a certain prefix and suffix, along with a certain +% damage condition, you're going to be using golds more often than not.

Another very good thing they did is make perfect caster items a bit more viable, and allow PvPves to have more options for items like there are on the PvP creation screen.

There's really no negative to greens, except that they've slightly devalued the gold market, and pretty much destroyed the gold market for perfect caster wands/offhands. Their positives far outway their negatives.

Infact, if most greens actualy had ideal prefix and suffix mods, and +% conditional damage that went well with those mods, I'd be even more for them.

Sorry your not fooling anyone. Your motives for suggesting such a thing is pure greed. Just because you have greens that you want to sell for a high price doesn't mean its going to happen. Personally I prefer it when prices are lower it means EVERYONE has a chance to get them. Greed is what ruins online economies turning the game to hell. I think ANet would be damned before they nerf every green in the game.

...and they still do. If you have a uber gold sword or ax, people say, "wow look at that guy. He must be really skilled." Greens are just another way of getting nice weapons, but not gegtting the best of the best. People won't be saying, "OMFG A GREEN YOU SUPER PWN!!!" No, just cuz those uber golds are twice as powerful(with the exceptions of new players).

/signed despite the fact that eveybody disagree and that it prolly will never happen anyway.

Yeah I like the idea of having elite weapons. Gold, perfect, and therefore expensive weapons.

Besides, what does it matter. Now, EVERY gold is perfect, or a few points from perfect (ie 15>50 or 14>50 and +28-30 health, or whatever mods it has)

Skill vs Grind

And anet knows they need some sort of auction house / trade house and they are working on it (radio interview) but it may not be ready till around C3 but will be for everyone (c1, c2, c3+).

They should help people move/sell things and stablize prices.

greens are supposed to be unique .. the stats are just like any other max item..
same for the skin.. basically it's just a named rare item
most of the Prophecies Campaign greens are crap and wont see play a lot
most of their mod combination are crap (they just made a lil effort on Victo's axe)
their purpose are only "easy way" .. another anti-farming mechanism

in a word, .. USELESS :/

maybe with a new skin specific to em...

as for myself, i dont use greens, in a way i play as if they werent part of the game .. maybe factions ll change that.. we ll see
all the greens i dropped til now were sold to the shop or given free ^^
ex: i dont see a use for a +1/20% or 10/10 sunder weapon
